Workshop and Class Descriptions

​Our classes are customized to meet the needs of your student and there are some options that may not be listed here.

Monday Open Jam
5:30pm - 7:30pm

Explore various instruments, jam out on your favorite songs, and meet new friends with supportive and experienced music mentors. Song choices vary week to week and students are encouraged to make suggestions. No musical experience required, all instruments and equipment are provided. All ages welcome, great way to jam out with your rock stars as a team!

Monday MuseArt
6:30pm - 7:30pm

Create visual art pieces inspired by live music in a low sensory setting for all ages. Art supplies provided with various local musical guests every week there to get your creative ideas flowing. Art instructor available for technique support and guidance with all ages and skill levels welcome to join.


Individual Learning Music Lessons
If your students learns best one-on-one, we will match them with an instructor that fits best with their goals.

​MEPAA provides in person and remote instruction to students on instruments of their choice and musical exploration for students who want to trying everything!  Instructors are trained to adapt lessons to follow student interest and keep music fun and engaging without stressful homework or demanding exercises. Lessons start with learning songs from artists students enjoy and develop the skills to feel successful in their musical experience. Direction of lessons are student driven and we offer a variety of options to meet the needs of students who enjoy alternative learning techniques to traditional music education models. Financial assistance available. 
​Donations make it all possible! Sliding scale fee options starting at $125/month for 30 minute weekly lessons


Performance & Band Coaching 
​Youth and family band coaching provided for program students with openings available between performance seasons. Kidz Rock Music & Arts Festival events and performances hosted every May and GRRRLZ ROCK Music & Arts Festival events and performances hosted every November.  Email us to see if we have any band openings for your rock star!

Sirens Of the Next Generation (S.O.N.G.)
All grrrl band of teens playing a variety of their favorite songs and creating lifelong friendships while increasing their personal confidence to take the stage and showcase their talents and skills. This band has been rocking our programs with rotating members since 2014 and always puts on a great show!

The Friday Crew

This band has very diverse tastes and loves to learn some of the most challenging songs, working together to explore many instruments and supporting each other as they rock our events.

Second Sunday Family Jam - Drop In  (Music Exploration Workshop for Families)
Second Sunday of each month at 1:30 - 3:00 pm. Check the Community Calendar down below ​for more details
$5 - $10 suggested donation welcomed, but not required
​Enjoy a musical afternoon with the family in this special hour-and-a-half rock camp style workshop! 
1:30pm - 1:45pm - Free Time
1:45pm - 2:00pm - Drum Circle
2:00pm - 2:25pm - Guided Acoustic Song
2:30pm - 3:00pm - Guided Electric Song
Explore playing with various instruments and learn songs from a variety of genres in a group setting with experienced and supportive music mentors.  No musical experience necessary, all instruments and equipment provided, songs vary on a weekly basis and include one acoustic and one electric song choice each week that adults and youth can enjoy learning together.

Cost varies based on # of participants, duration, location (max 12 participants at MEPAA facility; larger groups require a different location)

Bring a group of students, family members, staff or friends and experiment with various instruments, play fun songs and be supported by experienced instructors who will ensure you have a great time learning musical skills in an inclusive, low pressure environment.
