Our Mission

MEPAA envisions a world where everyone has access to the resources needed to thrive in the music and performing arts community by dismantling the systems that foster feelings of self-doubt, criticism, exclusion and fear for youth and underrepresented musicians and artists. The MEPAA dream makes music and arts accessible, inclusive, empowering and engaging for everyone!

Our Roots
MEPAA provides learning and performance opportunities prioritizing women, youth and underserved artists by creating positive, welcoming environments for developing and established artists to work together as a supportive community.
MEPAA was officially formed in 2015 to bring together several grass-roots arts programs. The GRRRLZ ROCK Music & Arts Festival began in 2006, and the KIDZ ROCK Music & Arts Festival followed soon after. The MuseArt interactive arts program was the last to be added to the organization and now all programs are offered at a full service community arts center that supports students and families year-round. The MEPAA Music & Arts Center is our biggest growth moment since we became a non-profit in 2015. The MEPAA community celebrated at our first Open House on May 7, 2022! We are so honored to receive all the support that made securing this building possible.
While we maintain a heavy focus on fostering opportunities for women and youth in music, MEPAA works to create a cooperative environment in which all artists of any age and gender can thrive. We value cooperation, mentorship, and community as a fundamental part of the creative process.
