Our Mission
Music Education & Performing Artists Association provides access to to music education and the arts by removing barriers and identifying resources needed for inclusion, exploration, and success!
Our Roots
The Music Education & Performing Artists Association (MEPAA) is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. MEPAA provides access to music education and the arts by removing barriers and identifying resources needed for inclusion, exploration, and success. MEPAA provides performance opportunities prioritizing women and youth artists and creates positive, welcoming environments for developing and established artists to work together as a supportive arts community.
MEPAA was officially formed in 2015, an outgrowth of a number of grass-roots arts programs. The GRRRLZ ROCK Music & Arts Festival began in 2006, and since then MEPAA has grown into offering several year-round programs. Creating a home for all our programming under one roof, the MEPAA Music & Arts Center is our biggest growth moment since we became a non-profit in 2015. The MEPAA community celebrated at our first Open House on May 7, 2022 (watch the local TV news coverage)! We are so honored to receive all the support that made securing this building possible.
While we maintain a heavy focus on fostering opportunities for women and youth in music, MEPAA works to create a cooperative environment in which all artists of any age and gender can thrive. We value cooperation, mentorship, and community as a fundamental part of the creative process.
